Okay...waking up to snow in MAY is unfamiliar to me, to say the least. I have heard a few residents compare eastern Idaho's weather to Alaska and thought that was a bit extreme...now I'm starting to believe it.
In spite of the fact that we have had some occasional warm days {which are absolutely beautiful!}, those days usually turn back into cold ones. For the last week or two though, things have started warming up and it has lasted long enough for things to actually start blooming. It is phenomenal!
The kiddos and I decided to enjoy the whether while we could (because I hear that snow in June is not uncommon here and snow in July is not entirely unheard of...) and I spent some time taking some pictures of what Nature has to offer right now.
Enjoy!
Those photos are unbelievably beautiful! You need to print them out and frame them and hang them on the wall. Gorgeous. What kind of camera do you have? Someday Joe will buy me a nice camera, when we aren't poor grad students. :)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! I love your pictures! I always look forward to reading your blog, even if it is weeks or months after a post! I read every one!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I hear you on the snow thing... I grew up where my sister always had snow on her birthday, May 21, and we had a blizzard on $th of July three years running! Hope you have a good year this year!
Thanks for the compliments! I use a dSLR, mostly, though occasionally just a point and shoot I keep in my purse. The dSLR is a Pentax K10D, and these photos were taken on my 100mm Macro lens, a mighty fine piece of glass :) Not many people use Pentax, but I started on one and am brand loyal. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Carolena, I have a sneaking suspicion that we will have snow for Memorial Day! Where did you grow up?
